Digital Disruption By Design

Anytime an agency has an opportunity to work with a client who is completely changing the game, you jump on it!

LOOK provided the creative for the Apigee world tour which is entitled “Adapt or Die.” The theme itself told us that this new client – a leading provider of API technology and services – was courageous, bold and not about to mince words. Passion is a word that is so overused but we struggle to avoid it because the Apigee team’s passion was so contagious, that bringing the theme to life for the tour gave us a “creative rush” that had the LOOK team almost giddy!

We understood Apigee’s commitment to “democratizing digital” and designed a set of “digital citizens” to illustrate the fact that all of us are leading digital lives now, and if companies are lagging and not aligned with people’s real lives they will be left behind. They must “Adapt or Die.”

LOOK provided a complete series of collateral for five-city international tour, including the pre-tour communications, the venues themselves and the CEO keynote presentations.

Thank you Apigee for being such an inspirational client!

LOOK Inside: Managing Remote Client Relationships

Client Meetings

Oftentimes clients come to us having never worked with an agency before. To them, it can seem like a mysterious process in which they come in with a problem and magically a brand/website/campaign comes out of it. We’d like to shed some light on how we work as a creative partner. In this blog series we will share common client questions and agency answers — a “LOOK Inside” our process!

Client Q: I would like to understand how you manage a long-distance client relationship. Would you require an initial face-to-face meeting? How important are the face-to-face meetings and at what frequency? Is Skype a viable alternative?

LOOK A: Great question! Face-to-face meetings are great — we prefer them when we kick off a project. Whenever possbile, we also like to get to meet and know who we are working with! We also love presenting creative concepts in person as it can help to actually “see” and gauge initial reactions. That said, an initial live meeting isn’t always an option, so in that case we try to be as flexible as we can with our conference calls in order to be available to our clients. However, past those initial meetings we more often work through online channels and on the phone with clients, whether they are down the street or in another country. This allows us to keep a project moving forward when it would otherwise be difficult to align schedules for “live” meetings with our busy clients. Typically we prepare a project schedule and send out a list of questions prior to any input meeting so the client’s team can come prepared to discuss what we need to have a productive call. Then we schedule additional calls as we go if there are any major steps that require more discussion and/or approval. Tools like WebEx have been very valuable in walking a client through the creative presentation. We are always happy to travel to the client for a face-to-face kick off if that is preferred. It is our job to adapt to the client’s needs and communication style, whether it’s high or low touch.

We hope this new blog series provides valuable insight into our agency’s process. Do you have a burning question you’d like answered? Send it on over, and we’ll take a look!
