The CDC Picks Up LOOK’S Diabetes Campaign

Millions of Americans are at great risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Santa Clara Valley Public Health Department needed an aggressive county-wide awareness campaign to spread the message that type 2 diabetes can be prevented.

LOOK developed an integrated campaign in three languages that would literally “hit the streets” (bus wraps and shelters, outdoor advertising) and go digital (banner ads, email blasts, social media)  before the holidays. LOOK created the rally cry and sub-brand, “Together we can prevent diabetes”, and developed the “It’s in our hands” campaign which visually emphasizes that we can prevent diabetes together as a community.

Public Health Department free events like screenings, workshops, and exercise and nutritional programs are now in place to support the campaign and to demonstrate the commitment of Santa Clara County towards preventing this killer disease.

Recently the CDC began sharing our campaign so that counties all over the country could access it. We are thrilled that our campaign has the opportunity to “go national” and help more communities in the fight against type 2 diabetes.
